ACTIONAID URGES GOVERNMENT TO HARMONISE INFRASTRUCTURE MONITORING

ActionAid Zambia has submitted to parliament that collaboration in monitoring of infrastructure development projects between the government and other key stakeholders in the country should be enhanced.
Enhanced collaboration could help to harmonize reporting systems and avoid conflicting positions for stakeholders in the public and private sector
ActionAid has urged Government to ensure that it also strengthened its Monitoring and Evaluation systems for accurate data capturing as capturing of wrong or inaccurate data could affect the process of policy formulation negatively.
In its submission made to the parliamentary committee appointed to review the annual progress on the 8th National Development Plan (8NDP), ActionAid Zambia said the figures on the completed boreholes in the sectors were not tallying between the government and stakeholders such as UNICEF in their WASH budget briefs on 2023.
ActionAid interim country director Andrew Chikowore led his delegation in making the submission before a committee chaired by Moomba Constituency MP, Fred Chaatila.
The have also urged government to ensure that the mining sectors paid fair tax share in the management of the Zambian economy.
