Civic Participation and State Accountability
Success Stories
ActionAid Zambia recognizes the significance of Civic participation and state accountability in realizing human rights and social justice. ActionAid seeks to address the low participation of women and youth by strengthening their participation in democratic decision-making spaces and holding the government accountable in the mobilization and utilisation of public funds. The priority also seeks to strengthen electoral accountability at the local (ward & constituency), district, provincial and national levels as provided for in the decentralization plan. Additionally, it also focuses on demanding for progressive taxation and gender-responsive public services, especially education, health, and agriculture, thereby transforming the lives of women and young people.
