MONGU DISTRICT HOSPITAL NOD ACTIONAID CHOLERA INTERVENTION

MANAGEMENT at Mongu District hospital has commended ActionAid Zambia for helping improve the diet for cholera patients through the donation of food.

They have also commended the organisation for the provision of safety materials such as surgical gloves and aprons for frontline medical staff at the cholera centre.

Hospital medical officer in-charge Dr Margaret Phiri said the nutrition support was needed as well as the safety of the workers.

Mongu District Commissioner Morgan Akabeswa received the donations on behalf of the hospital. He said government was ensuring that safe and clean water was provided to people to prevent cholera.

ActionAid Country Director Jovina NAWENZAKE handed over the donations and urged government to provide clean water for the people as it was key in preventing cholera.
